We believe that all students should be exposed to the power of the Performing Arts and have the opportunity to participate in robust Performing Arts programs as part of their K-12 education.
What students and parents are saying.
Friends of Manchester Essex Performing Arts conduct surveys to better understand the needs of our students and expectations of the parents. In 2022, we learned:
84% of students mentioned theatre, music and arts were among the most impactful programs. Both students and parents also mentioned that these programs had a positive impact in their lives.
83% of students and parents mentioned that there needs to be additional theatre / production support, school staffing and dance programs at the school(s). ALL students mentioned there should be promotional content and trips planned for these events.
74% of students and parents mentioned that there are conflicts between programs (e.g. music vs. chorus, sports vs. music, program times, etc. ) . Additionally, most respondents mentioned the lack of staffing support and lack of communication/program promotion for the Arts program.
